What this course is

Asset management as a decision discipline.

The course teaches practitioners to connect service requirements to asset information, condition, failure, criticality, risk, lifecycle strategy, capital planning and funding, and to make and defend decisions with imperfect data.

Every week you return to the City of Riverside, a mid-sized utility with aging water, wastewater, facilities and fleet assets, incomplete data, a funding gap and stakeholders who disagree. By week 15 you’ve built its asset management program and investment strategy, and you defend it to an executive panel.

Before you enroll.

Does it count for PDH or continuing education?

You’ll receive a certificate listing the contact hours you attended, for self-reporting. Whether those hours count toward your license or credential depends on your board or certifying body.

How much time does it take each week?

One 3-hour live session, plus about 6–8 hours for reading, the Riverside exercise and your capstone work. Plan for a little more around weeks 8 and 13–15.

Do I need to read the book first?

No. Each week assigns the relevant chapters, and your hardcover copy ships before the first session.

Can our organization pay by purchase order?

Yes. We invoice, accept purchase orders, and can send a W-9 and a one-page quote up front for procurement.

Is there a version for our leaders?

Yes. The Executive Seminar teaches leaders to set risk tolerance, decide and defend. Book both and receive about 15% off the combined price.

Can we license it for a university program?
